Grand Canyon Project™
.....is the culmination of four years of investigating, researching and magically stumbling across tattered but shimmering remnants of a family’s legacy, preserved for over 100 years, through passing of hands and lapsing of time. They rested quietly in boxes and folders, under beds and on shelves while significant and monumental world shifts were taking place all around them. It then began…the whispers and stirrings of the last forty years, have today, finally, brought the voices of these lives to a head.
Fifth generation Arizonan and the great-great-granddaughter of one of Grand Canyon tourism’s early trailblazers, Meagan Gipson, has created a colorful and electric fusion of the senses, awakening the past. She has since teamed up with her mom, Debbie Probst-Gipson to blend the musical journey Meagan takes with the powerful ride of pen to paper that Debbie contributes. Through the merging of this mother-daughter duo’s individual facets of multi-media, they share Meagan’s ancestors’ rich history and personal tales of what the real-life world of the rugged West was for them, what their day-to-day entailed and how they experienced life in what was one of the most remote but stunning areas of the world.
Through an intricately designed, custom product line, their goal is to follow in the footsteps of the spirited entrepreneurial W.W. Bass, exhibiting the pride in their family’s legacy and the pursuits and passions that resided in their souls. They invite audiences to "travel the passageway" back in time, as they personally introduce you to remarkable individuals and the heartbeat of dreams.
The two also have a LIVE show that surrounds the senses...a performance time machine! The vintage stage show combines the artistic elements Debbie and Meagan have created to take audiences on a wagon-riding, horse-saddling, rapid-racing, trail-making trip as close to what those did 100 years ago without ever leaving their seats!
Meagan and Debbie hope to capture the essence of a time gone by and look to reconnect with their own heritage. They love their home state of Arizona and each item encompasses some element of that, emphasizing the reflection on and regard for the people who made the Grand Canyon their home.
