105th Anniversary of a Hero's Death

11/16/2017

105th ANNIVERSARY of the death of New York City Fire Department (FDNY) Captain Charles Bass: my great-granduncle. This brave soul died in-the-line-of-duty and today, I want to remember him for his heroism.
I am so honored to know he is an ancestor of mine. Though the tragic story of his death is powerful and left a hole for many generations to come, his story is also an inspiring one.
Charles....we salute you.
With love,
Your great-grandniece.
